SUBJECT: Orange Micro leads the way yet again with the release of the Orange Link FireWire® 800/1394b PCI card.
Anaheim, CA - Orange Micro maintains its place on the cutting edge of connectivity by bringing the OrangeLink FireWire 800/1394b PCI card to market.
FireWire 800/1394b peripherals allow users to double the rate of FireWire transactions up to 800 Mb/s. FireWire 800/1394b technology functions with cables that can reach over twenty times as far the previous FireWire technology. The OrangeLink FireWire 800/1394b PCI card is equipped with two 9-pin FireWire 800/1394b ports so users can simultaneously use two FireWire 800/1394b devices. It is also fully backward compatible with an additional 6-pin FireWire 400/1394a port. This combination ensures that you can enjoy the highest performance possible with the FireWire peripheral of your choice, including DV camcorders and portable hard drives. The OrangeLink FireWire 800/1394b PCI card is designed to operate in a 64-bit PCI slot. It will also function in a 32-bit PCI slot, but this will limit your performance.
